POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Marsden Lab is seeking a Junior Specialist to assist in researching HIV persistence and pathogenesis. The role involves working with cell/tissue culture systems, molecular analysis, and humanized mouse models to explore HIV infection and novel cure strategies.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing mouse surgeries to create humanized mice
- Conducting tissue culture experiments
- Executing specific assays like flow cytometry, PCR, molecular cloning, and plasmid transfections
- Assisting with general lab maintenance
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, microbiology, or related field
- Experience with HIV, laboratory mice, and human fetal tissue
- Knowledge of lab safety protocols and general laboratory equipment
- Willingness to work non-standard hours when needed
- Ability to maintain accurate records of experiments
