The Wan lab at the Bond Life Sciences Center is seeking a Postdoc Research Associate in the area of Virology at the Influenza Systems Biology Laboratory, which is affiliated across Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology, School of Medicine, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, College of Engineering, Department of Veterinary Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, and MU Institute for Data Science and Informatics at University of Missouri (MU).

Qualifications
This position requires a Ph.D. degree in Virology, Molecular Biology, or related degree. Previous experience in influenza virus or Virology is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the position include are 1) to develop and apply novel methods for influenza vaccine strain selection, 2) to develop novel vaccines and antiviral therapy for influenza and emerging pathogens (e.g. SARS-CoV-2), 3) to study the impacts of repeated vaccination on vaccine effectiveness, and/or 4) to study molecular mechanisms of virus transmission, pathogenesis, and immunological responses for influenza viruses and emerging pathogens (e.g., SARS-CoV-2). S/he will be responsible for recording all methods, results, and other relevant information in an organized manner as instructed by the Principal Investigator. S/he will be expected to perform experiments, data analysis and manuscript preparation. The successful candidate should be highly motivated and integrate well be within a diverse team.
