Bioinformatics Co-op Opportunity | Fall 2024
Location: Billerica, Massachusetts
Salary: $28 – $32 per hour
Shift: First
Work Hours: 8 AM – 4 PM
Education: High School
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Bioinformatics Co-op to join the Targeted mRNA delivery (TMD) team. As part of the Digital team, you will collaborate with top scientists to learn bioinformatics techniques and biological assays. This opportunity will allow you to contribute to designing and implementing data pipelines for sequence analyses, focusing on lipid nanoparticles encapsulating nucleic acids. Throughout the 6-month engagement, you will gain practical experience in experimental workflows, bioinformatics pipelines development, and communication with organizational leaders.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on TMD projects
- Design and implement data pipelines for sequence analyses
- Participate in experimental workflows related to LNP discovery
- Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines
- Present scientific findings to organization leaders
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Masters or PhD Program in Bioinformatics
- Senior undergraduate student in Bioinformatics
- Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry
- 1 year of programming experience (Python or R preferred)
- Working knowledge of cloud computing
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Able to work 50% onsite in Billerica, MA
Skills
- Python (1 year of experience preferred)
- R (1 year of experience preferred)
- Next Generation Sequencing (1 year of experience preferred)
