The Intern will support the Life Science Group’s ongoing leadership in the field of ddPCR by aiding in the execution and analysis of experiments for the New Technology Team. As a valued member of this team, you will contribute to the development of innovative ddPCR applications through experiment execution, data analysis, and internal presentations. Additionally, you will collaborate with engineers, bioinformatics specialists, marketing professionals, and other stakeholders to deliver applications and products that enhance and support our customers’ needs.

How You’ll Make An Impact:

  • Independently execute effective experiments and perform basic data analysis (R, JMP, or Excel).
  • Document your work effectively in physical and digital laboratory notebooks and maintain high standards of data fidelity and storage.
  • Utilize literature and data driven approaches to make effective decisions relating to experimental design and execution.
  • Effectively communicate data and findings to the internal team as well as appropriate general audiences.

What You Bring:

  • Education: Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or a graduate student pursuing a degree related to Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or Biotechnology.
  • Must have a 3.0 cumulative overall GPA or better (4.0 scale).
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience with PCR.
  • Experience with qPCR and/or ddPCR is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work for a minimum of 10 consecutive weeks.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools.
  • Strong ability to work in a fast paced team setting.
  • Experience working with laboratory automation is a plus – Hamilton Star instruments specifically.
  • Strong problem-solving and statistical skillset (t-test, ANOVA, Pearson, Chi Squared tests) are required; experience with JMP, R, or Python is a plus but not required.
  • Good organization and communication skills are required.
