EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE for Zoetis QC Associate Scientist:
- B.S. degree in Biological / Life Sciences with 1 or more years of laboratory experience
- OR A.S. degree in Biological / Life Sciences with 3 or more years of laboratory experience preferred.
- Otherwise, Biotech Certification with 5 or more years of working experience as a QA/QC
- Laboratory technician is required.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
- Must be able to see color and/or note color differences in normal lighting conditions.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- This individual must have a solid understanding of immunoassays, their principles of performance, and demonstrate the ability to run or conduct all principle in-house assays consistently and independently.
- Zoetis QC Associate Scientist should have Experience with aseptic technique is preferred.
- This individual must have strong organizational and time management skills, effective verbal and written communication abilities, pay attention to detail, and must work well on a team in a goal-oriented environment.
- When needed, in order to meet business demands, this individual must invest extra time to expedite or complete assignments.
Job Description
Zoetis QC Associate Scientist
This individual must have a solid understanding of immunoassays, their principles of performance, and demonstrate the ability to run or conduct all principle in-house assays consistently and independently in the QC lab.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedules perform, and reports routine assays including in-process, final, stability, and various anti-serum screening assays, bringing to the attention of their supervisor any unanticipated or unusual results.
- Responsible for all raw material and reagent testing. LAL testing and gram-staining is performed occasionally. As needed, this individual will perform qualification testing for all new in-house reference standards.
- Biannual maintenance of product retention samples is required.
- Zoetis QC Associate Scientist is Responsible for writing new and updating existing SOP’s.
- Ensures the department conforms with all applicable quality standards.
- Executes and completes assigned lab work and projects in a timely manner.
- Ensures all activities are GMP, GLP, and ISO compliant.
- Monitors and maintains lab environment, processes, and equipment.
- Ensures cycle counts for the department are completely daily and are accurate.

QC Associate Scientist
Level 1: This individual works on problems of moderate scope (i.e., limited trouble-shooting), where analysis of data requires a review of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies to recommend appropriate action. Receives no instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
Level 2: This individual writes basic reports from data generated in the laboratory. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies to recommend appropriate action. Receives no instructions on routine work and few instructions on new assignments.
Level 3: This individual works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situation and/or data requires an evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies to determine appropriate actions or recommendations. May determine methods and procedures on new assignments. May provide guidance to other lab personnel.
