Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Food Science, or a related field

  • Graduating between Dec 2026 and Summer 2028

  • Ability to complete a 12-week internship (Summer 2026)

  • Willingness to relocate to Plymouth, MN, or Wichita, KS

  • Strong initiative, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred:

  • GPA of 3.0 or above

  • Leadership and technical skills in food science or R&D

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities

What You’ll Do as a Food Science Intern:

  • Research & Development Projects: Support formulation, process development, USDA compliance, and ingredient testing.

  • Applications Work: Develop new bakery, dairy, snack, and beverage formulations using Cargill ingredients.

  • Protein R&D Exposure: Learn about product development, shelf-life evaluation, sensory testing, and least-cost formulation.

  • Hands-On Lab Work: Apply analytical chemistry and food material science to evaluate ingredient functionality.

  • Customer-Focused Solutions: Participate in applications projects to meet customer needs and develop innovative products.

  • Gain experience in HACCP, food safety, product testing, and regulatory compliance.
