The Clinical Research Job Opportunity

This position is based at Sylmar, CA, within the CRM (Cardiac Rhythm Management) division. As a global leader in Cardiac Rhythm Technologies, Abbott develops innovative tools that improve how doctors treat heart arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats). The Clinical Research Scientist will provide scientific expertise throughout the development and implementation of clinical studies, evaluations, and risk management activities. The role involves writing and managing clinical trial protocols, study reports, and scientific publications, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and scientific excellence.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Facilitate communication among Marketing, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Quality Engineering, Clinical Affairs, and CROs for clinical activities.
  • Support regulatory submissions and communications in partnership with Regulatory Affairs.
  • Participate in clinical strategy development and trial design, ensuring scientific accuracy.
  • Write study protocols, amendments, evaluation plans/reports, and scientific papers.
  • Interpret Phase Iโ€“IV clinical data for product applications.
  • Present research findings at industry meetings and to regulatory agencies.
  • Provide progress reports and support audits for compliance and quality.

The position requires sound judgment, adherence to quality systems, and understanding of scientific and regulatory standards.

Education and Experience for Clinical Research Jobs

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Biological Sciences
  • 0โ€“2 years of experience.
  • Understanding of experimental design, data interpretation, and scientific methods.
  • Awareness of IVD and Biologic regulations/standards.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to apply technical knowledge effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior Clinical Trial or Research experience.
