Job Details

  • Job Title: QC Scientist I
  • Location: Columbus, OH (Onsite)
  • Job Type: Contract to Hire

  • Shift: 2nd Shift — Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM (flexible; potential for 4×10 schedule after training)
  • Pay: $24.00/hr

Job Overview

The QC Scientist I will perform bench testing and analytical support for pharmaceutical product development. This role includes conducting chemical and physical analyses related to multisource pharmaceutical products, supporting registration materials and regulatory submissions, and receiving cross-training in Oral Dose Solids, Nasals, HPLC, and GC methods.

Key Responsibilities of a Scientist Job

  • Prepare samples and perform wet chemistry, standard weighing, and dilutions
  • Perform chemical and physical analyses supporting product development and registration lot release
  • Assist with method validation and method transfer activities
  • Complete assigned tasks on schedule and in compliance with cGXP and company procedures
  • Document lab activities promptly and accurately while maintaining data integrity
  • Follow SOPs, work instructions, and applicable guidelines
  • Identify analytical challenges and assist in troubleshooting

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or a related scientific field
  • Strong background in chemistry or biochemistry
  • Proficiency in wet chemistry, dilutions, and sample preparation
  • Lab experience (academic experience acceptable)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications for Scientist Jobs

  • Industry lab experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to work independently with sound scientific judgment
  • Candidates with degrees in Biology, Microbiology, or Pharmaceutical Science are considered if their chemistry lab experience is strong

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced laboratory setting within the quality group
  • Occasional work in manufacturing areas
  • Fully onsite role in Columbus, OH
