Educational Requirements: Candidate must have either a B.S. with a minimum of 2 years of cell culture experience or M.S. and formal training in one of the following main fields of study; Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology, Cellular Physiology or Molecular Biology.
Primary Job Function Essential for Abbott Biotech Jobs: Perform experiments leading to the development and implementation of new or improved cell culture processes producing native or recombinant proteins in mammalian systems. Candidate for this position will have experience in growing mammalian cells in different culture vessels and under different conditions to produce a target molecule. Mammalian experience at a minimum should include demonstrated expertise inclusive of cell bank preparation, scale-up to seed production vessels such as roller bottles, batch spinners or pilot-scale automated bioreactors. Appropriately documents experimental procedures and results according to established guidelines.
Secondary Skills Required for Abbott Biotech Jobs 2020: Capable of evaluating and summarizing data using analytical methodologies, interpreting results, drawing conclusions and recommending options for future experiments to achieve project goals. Presents scientific observations at internal technology reviews and to the broader scientific community at national meetings or through publication when appropriate. Submits ideas for inventions innovates through patent filings and trade secrets.
