Summary
We are looking to hire an Applied Bioinformatics Research Scientist to explore metabolic vulnerabilities in lung cancer for targeted therapeutic purposes. Join our research team at Moffitt Cancer Center and be part of a cutting-edge initiative aimed at unraveling the underlying biology of lung cancer to develop effective treatment strategies.
Position Highlights
- Work with unique, multi-omics datasets to support translational lung cancer metabolism research.
- Develop advanced methods for processing and analyzing multi-omics data.
- Collaborate closely with bioinformaticians, statisticians, and translational researchers within a multidisciplinary team.

The Ideal Candidate
- Experience with at least one “omics” type (e.g., DNA-seq, RNA-seq, metabolomics, proteomics).
- Preference for candidates with multi-omics data integration experience.
- Proficiency in statistical program R and/or scripting languages like Python/Perl on Unix/Linux systems.
- Highly motivated and independent researcher with a background in cancer biology.
- Excellent communication and writing skills.
Responsibilities
- Support the entire omics data life cycle: experimental design, data quality control, analysis, interpretation, and delivery.
- Ensure timely and accurate analysis of team-generated omics data.
- Develop or maintain bioinformatics pipelines to analyze and visualize multi-omics data.
- Participate in various cancer and bioinformatics research projects.
Credentials and Qualifications
PhD in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Computational Biology, Machine Learning, Statistics/Biostatistics, or related fields.
