PhD position available. Nanotechnology and Bio-Engineering Research Division, Atlantic Technological University, ATU Sligo, Ireland.
Eligbility Criteria:
Highly motivated individual with a first class or high second-class honours degree/ masters in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/engineering or a related discipline is required to work in the project entitled Nano2H2: Nano-electrocatalysts for sustainable hydrogen production from bio-resources. This Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) project aims at investigating design, synthesis and performance of novel electrode materials for hybrid electrolysis to improve the energy efficiency and cost of power-to-hydrogen conversions using renewables.
IELTS/TOEFL certificate is required for candidates applying from non-English speaking countries. ATU Sligo’s approved English Language Entry Requirements for postgraduate students is IELTS 6.0 (Overall) with no component score less than 5.5.
Previous research experience in materials synthesis, electrocatalysis and electrochemistry will be advantageous but not essential.
Scholarship €18,500 (4 years) and the fees will be paid.
Topic: Nano2H2: Nano-electrocatalysts for sustainable hydrogen production from bio-resources.
The research will be carried out in collaboration with Atlantic Technological University and Trinity college Dublin. The selected candidate will be registered at ATU campus in Sligo.
