Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Research Technician I assists in laboratory research and procedures. This includes routine experimental techniques such as electrophoresis, centrifugation, and chromatography. Responsibilities also involve collecting, verifying, recording, and compiling research data and information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Note: Specific duties will vary depending on the lab’s needs.

Assist scientists and technicians in research procedures and equipment operation

Collect, organize, and verify research data; create charts, graphs, and reports using software tools

Set up and operate laboratory apparatus; maintain detailed laboratory records

Order laboratory chemicals, reagents, and supplies as needed

Attend lab meetings and participate in research planning

Maintain insects, plants, animals, or tissue cultures as required

Stay updated on relevant scientific literature

Perform additional tasks as assigned by a supervisor
Qualifications
Education:

Bachelor of Science in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and related research experience
Experience:

Some related lab experience preferred
Skills and Abilities:

Experienced in laboratory principles and duties

Ability to maintain detailed records and draft routine reports

Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills

Capable of handling complex tasks with general instructions

Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range:

$17.08 (minimum) to $27.76 (maximum) per hour

Most new hires are compensated between the minimum and midpoint: $21.35/hour
