Biology Lab Associate Job Description
The Lab Associate at IQVIA is responsible for performing routine laboratory testing procedures to generate data used in clinical trials research. This role supports accurate specimen analysis, documentation, safety, quality, and compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulatory requirements. The position requires a commitment to maintaining high standards in laboratory practices and effective communication with cross-functional stakeholders.
Eligibility Criteria
Biology Lab Associate Job qualifications include:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree may be required for some CAP/CLIA lab locations in biology.
- 6 months relevant lab experience required.
- Basic knowledge of lab principles.
- Basic knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and applicable regulatory agency standards.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and practices, including standard precautions and hazardous chemical handling.
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and terminology used in the area of responsibility.
- Basic computer skills.
- Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

- Perform routine analysis of specimens and document results in accordance with SOPs and applicable regulatory guidelines.
- Evaluate the validity of analytical results against algorithms displayed by the laboratory computer system.
- Identify and document potential performance errors or unusual results and escalate to senior laboratory personnel.
- Prepare buffers and solutions for analysis, as required.
- Conduct post-analysis sample and reagent storage.
- Assist in the development and writing of new laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Support lab housekeeping, safety, quality, and 6S requirements and initiatives.
- Communicate clearly, accurately, and on time with cross-functional stakeholders.
