Biotechnologist Jobs at Lonza- Role
The Biotechnologist I role at Lonza Portsmouth offers a hands-on introduction to biopharmaceutical manufacturing. This position is ideal for candidates seeking to develop technical and compliance skills in a world-class GMP facility. Working on the day shift, you’ll support the production of therapeutic proteins and ensure process excellence through teamwork, precision, and dedication.
Biotechnologist Jobs at Lonza- Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor production equipment and processes, including Clean-in-Place (CIP) and Steam-in-Place (SIP) operations.
- Document all production activities in compliance with GMP and GDP standards.
- Maintain training qualifications for assigned tasks.
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as pH and conductivity monitoring and sample testing.
- Transfer raw materials and chemicals across production areas.
- Support facility cleanliness, organization, and 6S programs.
- Participate in team activities, meetings, and shift handovers.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; AS/BS in a science-related field preferred.
- Compliance: Must be comfortable & Experience in asking questions and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) precisely.
- Experience: Prior GMP, biotech, or pharmaceutical experience is a plus, but not required.
- Core Skills: Strong attention to detail and commitment to learning.
