Job Description
Roche is seeking a Lab Assistant 1 to join its Seattle-based diagnostics team. This role will support day-to-day laboratory operations for novel DNA sequencing technology, Sequencing by Expansion (SBXโข). The position offers hands-on experience in lab maintenance, supply management, and research support, making it an excellent entry point for individuals pursuing careers in biology, biotechnology, and related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Order and track laboratory supplies.
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate equipment and pipetman.
- Perform routine laboratory maintenance, including cleaning glassware and vials.
- Ensure lab cleanliness and organization.
- Support the Central Services (CS) team and the CS manager in daily operations.
- Interpret and execute instructions effectively.
- Propose and implement process improvements.
- Perform additional duties as assigned while adhering to Roche policies.
Qualifications:
- Previous laboratory and/or research experience required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers, especially Excel.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to follow directions accurately and work safely in a professional lab environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with openness to feedback and collaboration.

Salary & Benefits:
- The expected salary range for this position in Seattle, Washington, is $37,800 โ $70,200, based on qualifications, experience, and other lawful factors. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.
