Job Description:
Join Lonza AG as Technologist 1 – Cell Banking to support the development of global clinical products through advanced cell culture techniques. This full-time position in Slough involves working in a cGMP cleanroom environment with cutting-edge biotech operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct cell culture using aseptic techniques to establish and maintain cell banks, ensuring accuracy in batch records and logbooks.
- Perform aseptic operations, including revival, subculture, pooling, cell counting, and environmental monitoring.
- Manage routine lab maintenance: equipment checks, cleaning, and stock handling.
- Prepare stock solutions/media followed by aseptic filtration.
- Oversee inventory management of frozen vials in liquid nitrogen.
- Draft development reports and prepare release documentation.
- Coordinate activities such as test bookings, shipments, inventory tracking, and facility management.
- Maintain cGMP compliance and safety training.
- Support other operational duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Degree or equivalent in Biology, Biotechnology, or a similar scientific discipline (BSc required, MSc a plus).
- Hands-on experience with cell culture and aseptic techniques.
- Strong record-keeping and inventory management skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Availability for Monday through Friday work and occasional weekends (1 in 5).
- Commitment to safety and quality standards in cleanroom settings.
