Clinical Research Job Description
Clinical Research Job responsibilities at Alexion involve local responsibility for delivering clinical studies at assigned sites while actively participating in local study teams. The Clinical Research Associate (CRA) works closely with Project Management Clinical Operations (PMCO), Study Start-Up (SSU) Manager, Clinical Study Assistant (CSA), and other Clinical Operations Management (COM) colleagues to ensure study commitments are delivered efficiently.
The CRA serves as the primary contact for study sites and is responsible for monitoring study conduct to ensure compliance with Alexion procedural documents, ICH-GCP guidelines, and local regulatory requirements. The role includes identifying, selecting, initiating, monitoring, and closing clinical trial sites while ensuring quality, compliance, and successful study execution. Experienced CRAs may also assume additional responsibilities such as Lead CRA activities. Qualifications
RequiredÂ
- 1+ year of CRA monitoring experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field.

Clinical Research Job – Key Responsibilities
- Perform site identification, initiation, monitoring, data review, and closeout visits (remote and onsite).
- Conduct remote data checks following the Clinical Monitoring Plan (CMP).
- Drive site performance and resolve study-related issues promptly.
- Train and support investigators and site staff on study procedures and RBQM.
- Develop recruitment plans and support patient enrollment activities.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure study quality standards are maintained.
- Prepare monitoring visit reports and communicate with Principal Investigators.
- Manage essential documents and maintain the eTMF.
- Support study start-up, regulatory submissions, and ongoing compliance.
- Assist with investigator selection and feasibility assessments.
- Collaborate with Medical Affairs and cross-functional teams.
- Escalate quality, privacy, and ICH-GCP compliance issues when necessary.
- Support audits and regulatory inspections.
