CRC Job Description
CRC job responsibilities at Emory University involve handling and assisting with administrative activities associated with clinical trials. The role is primarily patient-facing and focuses on patient screening, enrollment, informed consent, and study visit execution rather than regulatory responsibilities. The Clinical Research Coordinator will support clinical research activities by coordinating patient interactions, maintaining study records, and ensuring accurate data collection throughout the research process.
Qualifications
CRC job applicants should meet one of the following educational or experience requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED with three years of administrative support experience
- Two years of college in a scientific, healthcare-related, or business administration program with one year of administrative or customer service experience
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with one year of administrative support or nursing experience
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, MD, or PhD in a scientific, healthcare-related, or business administration program
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field
- Prior experience in clinical research or healthcare settings
- Familiarity with patient screening, enrollment, and study visits
- Experience using EMR systems such as Epic
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinic environment
- Basic understanding of GCP and human subjects research principles
Key Responsibilities – CRC Job
CRC job duties include:
- Supporting day-to-day clinical research operations and participant management.
- Maintain data related to research projects and complete source documents/case report forms
- Perform data entry and assist with patient recruitment
- Attend study meetings and maintain equipment and supplies
- Review medical records and conduct participant screenings
- Perform interviews and quality-of-life questionnaires
- Collect study specimens according to protocol, including phlebotomy and processing
- Coordinate services, schedule procedures, and monitor charges
- Assist with quality assurance and regulatory tracking
- Identify and pre-screen patients for study eligibility
- Support the informed consent process
- Schedule and conduct study visits, including vitals and questionnaires
- Ensure accurate data collection and visit completion
- Maintain communication with participants for follow-up and retention
