Internship Overview:
As a Quality Assurance/Food Safety Intern, you will:

Monitor employees and plant procedures according to SQF code, Food Security, and Defense standards.

Assist in intervention validation studies, sanitary operations, and animal welfare monitoring.

Maintain daily records of finished product quality: ground beef sampling, HACCP temperature checks, metal detector/x-ray checks, and specification checks.

Ensure critical control points function effectively.

Support QA personnel and production with third-party audit preparations.

Learn and maintain the plant’s humane handling, safety, and quality assurance expectations.

Recommend process improvements to strengthen the QA program.

Collect and analyze data related to product quality and food safety metrics.

Assist with documentation, QA protocols, and compliance processes.
Qualifications:

Completion of sophomore year (second year) at an accredited college or university.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.

Ability to work in office and manufacturing environments with PPE.

Reliable transportation to and from the workplace.
- Preferred fields of study are typically Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or related Life Sciences, since the role is in food safety and quality assurance.
