Kimberly-Clark Life Science Kimberly-Clark is seeking a Lead Life Sciences Scientist for our Life Sciences team. The incumbent will report to a Life Sciences Senior Research Manager in Kimberly-Clark’s Global Research & Engineering organization and work closely with fellow scientists, marketing, sales, legal, regulatory and other subject matter experts around the world to conduct fundamental and applied research targeted towards the needs of consumers. The successful candidate will drive for new scientific insights and results, translate these into appropriate technology solutions, and be a strong partner with business units to deliver on growth goals. Clear and compelling communication to audiences ranging from scientists and engineers to business unit partners and leaders is a must, along with the ability work independently on specific objectives as well as collaboratively with senior scientists on broader project goals. The position is in our Roswell, GA location

Job Title: Lead Life Sciences Scientist

Location: USA-GA-Atlanta-Roswell

Required Qualifications:

Kimberly-Clark Life Science

  • Ph.D. in Molecular, Skin, or Cell Biology, Microbiology, or Biomedical Engineering with at least 2-3 years of industrial research experience or, alternately, a similar M.S degree and 5 or more years of relevant industrial research experience
  • Able to maintain a safe work environment appropriate for a biological laboratory (BSL-2)
  • Kimberly-Clark Life Science Expertise in the human microbiome
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas: nucleic acid isolation (qRT-PCR), immunological assays, immunohistochemistry, cell-based assays
  • Additional expertise in one or more of the following areas: clinical microbiology, fungal culture, epithelial cell culture (skin), primary cell culture techniques including media development, co-cultures, in vitro tissue constructs, and ex vivo models
  • Evidence of developing and leveraging novel methods, attaining protocol standardization, and performing robust data analysis to deliver results
  • History of successful collaboration with research, product development, marketing, legal, and sales teams by translation of results into compelling communications for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Kimberly-Clark Life Science Demonstrated record of successful project management
  • Excellent written communications skills as demonstrated by meaningful peer-reviewed research publications
  • Meaningful evidence of successfully coaching and mentoring other scientists
  • Travel up to 25% (domestic and international)

Preferred Qualifications:

Kimberly-Clark Life Science

  • Computer coding experience (R, Python, JMP) for analysis of large data sets (bioinformatics)
  • Knowledge and familiarity in working with regulated products, including an understanding of regulatory pathways
  • Experience with designing clinical studies
  • Kimberly-Clark Knowledge/expertise regarding disposable consumer products
  • Language skills beyond English are highly valued
