Job Description

This six-month, full-time position provides an opportunity to work in a cutting-edge oncology research environment. As a Temporary Laboratory Scientist, you will provide essential support to research teams during maternity cover, performing complex cell and molecular biology experiments and contributing to oncology drug discovery projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform, optimise, and troubleshoot cell culture techniques, including passaging, freezing, and transfection.
  • Manage large volumes of samples and datasets using manual and automated systems.
  • Set up and analyse plate-based assays (proliferation, cytotoxicity, ELISA) and interpret results.
  • Contribute to screening small molecule inhibitors for oncology research.
  • Maintain lab operations, manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure compliance with safety standards.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in life sciences.
  • Laboratory experience in an industry setting, including cell culture.
  • EU passport and the ability to work onsite in Oss.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Tissue culture, assay development, or screening experience.
  • Oncology or drug discovery research exposure.
