  • Position: Lab Operations Technician
  • Location: Seattle, WA
  • Employment Type: Contract (6 Months)
  • Schedule: 100% onsite, Mondayโ€“Friday, 8:30 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM
  • Pay Rate: $27.55 โ€“ $32.63 per hour (W2)

Educational Requirements for the Laboratory Technician Role:

Required:

  • General familiarity with scientific lab environments, equipment, and safety protocols

Preferred:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in a scientific discipline
  • Associate degree with 2+ years of scientific industry experience
  • 5S / Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience

Key Responsibilities of the Laboratory Technician:

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and support emergent lab equipment needs
  • Perform routine and non-routine lab equipment maintenance and sterilization
  • Support general lab organization and efficiency improvements
  • Coordinate equipment moves and maintain lab functionality
  • Collaborate with warehouse, facilities, EH&S, and end-user groups
  • Work with external partners to schedule and follow up on preventive and corrective maintenance
  • Promote safe laboratory operations and effective communication

Skills Required for the Laboratory Technician Role:

  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
  • Highly organized with strong time-management skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote)
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional scientific environment
