Job Summary
We are seeking a Laboratory Technician, Process R&D to join our Process R&D Probiotics, Cultures, Food Protection Team at IFF. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in supporting process development, troubleshooting, and improvement efforts across our sites.
Essential Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities | Details |

Routine Lab Tasks | Media prep, microbial fermentation, freeze drying, water activity testing, cell plating, microscopic evaluation |
Process R&D Support | Assist with the development of cost-effective and scalable fermentation processes |
Data & Documentation | Maintain lab notebooks, update spreadsheets, and analyze statistical data |
Cross-functional Collaboration | Work with manufacturing operators and R&D staff for trials, scale-up, and tech transfers |
Quality Support | Participate in problem-solving, deviations, and process troubleshooting |
Flexibility | Willingness to occasionally work off-hours, including weekends |
Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology, Biotech, Biochemistry

Industrial lab experience preferred

Understanding of lactic acid bacteria, freeze-drying, microbial fermentation (preferred)

Strong knowledge of MS Office tools

Strong communication and organizational skills

Familiarity with Six Sigma tools and data/statistical software (a plus)
