Job Summary:
The Microbiologist I at Curia is responsible for performing microbiological testing and quality activities to support product production, environmental monitoring, and product release in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards by conducting microbiological assays, analyzing trends, and accurately documenting and reporting results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), USP, EU, and FDA regulations
- Support data integrity initiatives
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Assist in training new microbiologists
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Maintain proper storage, handling, and disposal of microbiological samples
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline, preferably microbiology or a related field
Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of industry experience in a GMP or GLP environment
Skills and Abilities
- Provides guidance and mentorship to team members
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in the validation of lab microbiological techniques
Other Requirements: Must pass a background check, drug screen, and Occupational Health Screening. Gowning certification, media qualification, and ability to wear a respirator may be required.
