Job Purpose:
BrewDog is seeking a Microbiology Specialist to play a critical role in ensuring that every beer we brew meets the highest microbiological standards. Youโll work directly with our brewing and packaging teams, using PCR and traditional plating techniques to monitor and optimize the beer production process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize PCR and plating methods to assess microbiological clearance in production.
- Perform yeast counts, phase changes, and wastewater analysis.
- Conduct sensory panel setups and interpret results.
- Coordinate sample collection with the brewing and packaging teams.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot lab equipment.
- Track and report data using Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Uphold BrewDogโs quality and safety policies across all lab functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Laboratory experience preferred, but not required.
- Basic understanding of microbiology, fermentation, and brewing science.
- Strong organizational skills and a willingness to learn fast.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
