Responsibilities
- Perform specimen processing, microbiology, serology, and infectious disease testing.
- Ensure testing is compliant with department policies and accrediting agency requirements.
- Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
- Apply concepts of laboratory medicine and independent judgment for accurate test results.
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance requirements.
- Act as a resource to peers and assist in training personnel.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology, or Chemistry required
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- National Certification as a Medical Technologist is required
- State license where required
- Thorough knowledge of laboratory methods and regulatory compliance
