Brief Job Description
Under limited supervision, the Molecular Biologist III will follow standard protocols, perform advanced molecular testing using Next Generation Sequencing, and assist with the development of molecular techniques. The position requires a high level of scientific knowledge and judgment.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct advanced molecular biology analysis using Next Generation Sequencing (NGS)

Perform bioinformatics analysis using specialized pipelines
-
Implement and troubleshoot molecular assays and equipment
-
Ensure CLIA/CAP compliance in test procedures and data reporting
-
Assist in SOP updates, training staff, and maintaining reagent inventory
-
Interpret results, conduct quality control, and manage preventive maintenance
-
Train new staff and ensure lab safety protocols are followed

Participate in cross-training and emergency response assignments
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in biological, or clinical laboratory sciences

Valid Class C driver’s license (Texas or equivalent)

Experience in molecular techniques such as PCR, NGS, and microbiology preferred
-
Familiarity with bioinformatics, CLIA/CAP regulations, and lab quality control systems
