MSD Internship Job Description

The MSD internship provides an opportunity to work under the supervision of experienced scientists, focusing on generating data for the development of a new enteric vaccine for poultry. Interns will engage in various research activities and contribute to the overall goals of the Poultry R&D department.

Life Sciences Internship – Key Responsibilities

  • Support research activities aimed at the identification and evaluation of novel enteric vaccine candidates.
  • Contribute to the design, execution, and optimization of laboratory assays to assess immune responses.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting of experimental results.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support ongoing vaccine research and development projects.
  • Provide fresh perspectives by sharing ideas and opinions.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Last year BSc (HLO) or MSc student in life sciences, e.g., biology, biomedical sciences, molecular mechanisms of disease. Students in earlier years available for a longer internship (up to 24 months) are also encouraged to apply.
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques in bacteriology, immunology, cell culture, and molecular biology is preferred.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken).
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months (5 days per week); longer availability with a minimum of 3 days per week is also possible.
