Small Molecule Analytical Research and Development is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Microbiologist to join a team based in Rahway. The Senior Scientist, Microbiology, is a critical member of the microbiology network supporting the small molecule, biologics candidates in the preclinical/clinical development space across Our Company’s Research & Development Division.

Eligbility Criteria:
- PhD in Microbiology or related Biological Sciences
- MS in Microbiology or related Biological Sciences and at least 4+ years industry experience. OR
Required experience and skills:
- In-depth understanding of compendial microbial assays.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience working in GMP area.
- Strong aseptic skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and critical thinking.
- Ability to develop and execute projects.
Job Description
The successful candidate will apply knowledge and understanding of Microbial assays to execute GXP release and stability activities supporting pipeline development, facility support, and evaluation/implementation of new technologies to advance the use of rapid microbiology methods. The incumbent will also be responsible managing the Microbiology COE DPDS Release and EM Control Group (REM) which is responsible for release of clinical and preclinical materials and Environmental control of manufacturing facilities.
This testing includes collaborating with scientists across all disciplines within our Research & Development Division to provide microbial expertise and support, including a strong collaboration with our Microbiology COE Analytical and Development Qualification Group (ADQ).
In addition, the candidate will support the RY GMP readiness of the GMP Clinical Manufacturing space from a Microbiological Standpoint (i.e. Sterility testing, PSIMs BIs). The incumbent will take an active role in internal and external audits/inspections, author and review SOPs, lead investigations change management documentations, lead and support organizational initiatives, and SDLC and MODA activities.
