Educational Requirements:

  • Must be a current student enrolled in a Master’s or PhD program in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Microbiology, Biological Sciences or related areas

Key Responsibilities of the Microbiology Intern:

  • In this Microbiology Internship, you have to conduct food safety and microbiology research
  • Support microbial kill step validation
  • Participate in risk assessments for products, processes, and ingredients
  • Perform ingredient and product microbial testing
  • Assist in experimental design and data analysis
  • Work on spoilage mitigation strategies
  • Prepare and present project findings at the end of the internship
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices
  • Apply aseptic techniques and conduct microbiological sample analyses

Skills Required for the Microbiology Intern Role:
