Job Description
As a Scientist – Microbiology, you will perform accurate and timely testing of routine and non-routine laboratory samples in compliance with GMP and safety guidelines. You will conduct data reviews, participate in investigations, support equipment qualifications and method transfers, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, providing technical and training support to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct microbiological and chemical testing of water, clean steam, environmental monitoring, and compressed gases per established protocols.
- Perform microbiological testing of products and accurately record data in the ELN/LIMS.
- Identify deviations and initiate investigations as required.
- Review analytical data and adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
- Provide technical support, troubleshoot equipment/methods, and support lean lab and 5S initiatives.
- Maintain laboratory supplies inventory and contribute to operational excellence.
- Train team members on techniques such as bioburden, endotoxin, TOC, and conductivity testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related life/applied science.
- Minimum of 2 yearsโ experience in a GMP microbiology laboratory.
- Experience with LIMS, LES, ELN, MODA, TrackWise, and MasterControl preferred.
- Proficiency in microbiological techniques (e.g., aseptic techniques, sterility, endotoxin, microbial ID, bioburden, TOC, particulate matter).
- Familiarity with lean and 5S operational excellence practices.
