Job Title: Protein Chemist II
Location: Lansing, MI
Education and/or Experience:
College education – degree in Protein Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biological Science, Immunology, Microbiology, Food Science, or related science field. 2-3 years of laboratory, manufacturing, and/or related work experience.
Qualifications:
- Laboratory experience
- Knowledge of SOP’s
- Pipetting experience
- Strong organization skill
- Ability to work as a team and independently
OUR OPPORTUNITY:
Neogen is looking for a Protein Chemist to formulate reagents and prepare components used in the assembly of our products.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Formulate chemical reagents from stock and conduct chemical reactions with direction from the appropriate Standard Manufacturing Procedure (SMP) or Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
- Maintaining Inventory of chemicals and supplies
- Maintain general cleanliness and organization in area
- Perform in process quality testing and product release testing.
- Use good manufacturing procedures (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP) in the manufacture of all reagents.
- Participate in troubleshooting efforts pertaining to product failures.
- Produce, compile, and analyze data sets generated for raw material qualification, product release testing and/or troubleshooting efforts
- Prepares and presents reports and analysis of data as required
