- Bachelor’s degree in the Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, or Pharmaceuticals preferably Microbiology/Biological Sciences
- Must have demonstrated skills in both verbal and written communication
- Demonstrated understanding of the methods used for product and material testing, microbial isolation and identification.
- Able to work flexible shifts as required by business need
- Solid Microsoft Excel/Word skills
- Understands simple arithmetic calculations associated with various measures and analyses

The Microbiologist I position will be responsible for leadership within the microbiology laboratory and execution of defined monitoring and validation programs within the process. This position is responsible for the making of microbial media, testing of raw material and finished product as required by internal specifications and test methods.
Other microbiology lab activities are required which may include:
- Instrument maintenance/calibration/ownership, training, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) revisions
- Performs media preparation, sterilization, and quality control, including labeling, storage and documentation of all media preparation steps
- Interprets test results by comparing final test results to authorized standards and recognizes potential quality issues based on the comparison
- Performs sampling and testing for defined Microbiology Daily Management (MDM) programs at the site
- Performs microbiological identification tests of any growth obtained as gram staining coagulase, oxidase, etc.
- Maintains the microbiology lab in state of orderliness ensuring that 5S, and other best practices are adhered to as per lab standard
- Ensures that any chemicals, reagents, and standards are within expiration by ensuring good management principles are adhered to
- Develops and revises to laboratory operating procedures as required
- Adheres to all applicable standard operating procedures and ensures that good documentation practices and data integrity principles are followed and practiced.
