- Associate degree in chemistry, biology, or a science/technical related field required (Bachelorโs degree preferred)
- Prior experience working in a biology, microbiology, clinical, or chemistry laboratory preferred for QC Histology Technician
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Prior experience working with animal and human tissue and handling biohazardous materials preferred
- Competency in aseptic techniques and working under a laminar flow hood/biosafety cabinet preferred for QC Histology Technician
- Experience working in an FDA or AATB regulated industry, medical or biotech experience preferred
- Conducting the laboratoryโs daily operations, with primary focus on the Histology analysis.
- Performing tasks accurately and according to procedures.
- Operating histology equipment including but not limited to tissue processing, slide staining, slide scanning, and image analysis as QC Histology Technician.
- Performing laboratory equipment preventative maintenance, calibrations, and validations according to appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
- Preparing solutions and reagents following standard formulations and procedures.
- Cleaning and sterilizing instruments, glassware, and equipment; restocking supplies and materials.
- Monitoring inventory levels, ordering materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, ensuring orders are fulfilled upon receipt.
- Following laboratory policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and appropriate state and federal regulations as QC Histology Technician.
- Complying with all company policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Setting up equipment and materials to perform scheduled analyses.
- Performing all other duties as directed by Supervisor, including cross-training for non-histology related laboratory methods.
