About the Company
The Vertex Cell and Gene Therapy (VCGT) Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Quality Control (QC) team is responsible for sample testing and associated workflows within the stem-cell T1D program. There are several Jobs at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and this Quality Control Specialist Job role ensures all activities comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and contribute to efficient and compliant analytical operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Quality Control Specialist Job:

Perform analytical testing including flow cytometry, qPCR (MycoTOOL), ELISA, cell counts, sterility (BACT), Gram stain, and endotoxin (LAL) testing.

Conduct technical reviews of raw data and maintain accurate laboratory records.

Perform general laboratory and equipment maintenance.

Adhere strictly to cGMP and cGDP principles.

Support validation, testing, and reporting of in-process, release, and stability samples.

Work a 2nd shift schedule: Wednesday to Saturday, 10 hours per day.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of the Quality Analyst:

Strong attention to detail and adherence to cGMP/cGDP standards.

Understanding of laboratory equipment and analytical practices.

Proficient with spreadsheets and word processing software.

Dependable, collaborative, and adaptable to change.

Demonstrates initiative, optimism, and a positive attitude.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a science discipline.

2–4 years of experience in GMP pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
Compensation & Benefits:
-
Pay range for this Quality Analyst: $37–41/hr

Temporary role through a third-party agency partner; benefits and terms provided by the agency.

Eligible for overtime pay per federal and state guidelines.
