Randstad is seeking a skilled Molecular Biologist to join a dynamic team supporting cutting-edge product development in plant biotechnology. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in DNA manipulation, molecular cloning, and lab automation. This is a fully onsite role based in St. Louis, Missouri, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative biotechnology research.
Molecular Biologist Job- Key Responsibilities
As a Molecular Biologist, you will:
- Perform essential molecular biology techniques including DNA preparation, restriction digests, ligations, electroporation, transformations, and PCR.
- Conduct high-throughput DNA cloning reactions following established protocols and documentation standards.
- Support DNA cloning workflows and assist in designing or troubleshooting alternative cloning approaches.
- Learn and utilize laboratory automation programs to improve workflow efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior scientists to troubleshoot automation errors and optimize experimental outcomes.
- Manage laboratory inventory, consumables, and maintain organized workspaces.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and Safety standards and represent the team in company-wide safety initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or related field (required).
- 1–3 years of hands-on molecular biology experience (non-degreed candidates with 7+ years of experience will also be considered).
- Strong understanding of scientific instrumentation, DNA cloning principles, and molecular workflows.
- Proven ability to learn quickly, adapt to new techniques, and follow complex procedures with precision.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining communication with team members.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
- Must be able to commute daily to St. Louis, MO (onsite position).
