Overview
We are looking for dedicated individuals interested in cancer research to join Assoc Prof Joanne Ngeow Yuen Yie’s team. The role involves consolidating and analyzing large-scale genomic and clinical data from diverse Asian cohorts, focusing on data harmonization, statistical genetics, and machine learning applications in cancer risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Data harmonization – Clean and consolidate genomic and phenotypic datasets
- Statistical genetics – Conduct genetic analyses and polygenic score construction
- Collaborative leadership – Coordinate data sharing and meta-analysis efforts with international partners
- Machine learning – Develop and validate cancer risk models
- Manuscripts and grants – Contribute to scientific publications and grant applications
Key Competencies and Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science
- Proficiency in Python, R, or other data science languages
- Experience with genetic analysis and risk model development
- Familiarity with cloud computing and high-performance computing environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
