Research Assistant Job Description
Research assistant role responsibilities involve supporting laboratory operations and ongoing biomedical research projects. The successful candidate’s duties will include laboratory organization and management, mouse colony maintenance and husbandry, and performing and supporting research activities in the laboratory.
Research activities include solution preparation, stereotaxic surgeries, immunohistochemistry, and mouse behavior studies. The selected candidate may also perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Research Assistant Job applicants should meet the following requirements:
Minimum
- BA/BS degree in a related discipline
- Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position
Preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Neuroscience, Psychology, or a related field
- Strong communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Prior laboratory experience
- Experience with mouse husbandry
- Experience with genotyping
- Experience with behavioral research
- Experience with stereotaxic surgery
