Research Assistant Job Description

Research assistant role responsibilities include supporting an exciting research project that investigates how gut microbiota influences human health, immunity, energy metabolism, and host physiology.

The selected candidate will participate in research aimed at understanding how bacterial metabolism, diet-microbe interactions, and microbe-microbe interactions contribute to cardiometabolic disease (CMD). The project combines several advanced experimental techniques, including: Anaerobic bacterial physiology studies, Metabolomics, Metagenomics & Deep phenotypic characterization of gnotobiotic mouse models. This position provides excellent exposure to multidisciplinary biomedical research while working alongside experienced researchers at NTU.

Qualifications

Research assistant job applicants should possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field.
  • Previous research experience is preferred.
  • Experience with microbiology techniques is desirable.
  • Good communication, organizational, and technical skills.
  • Ability to manage laboratory administration, procurement, and maintain laboratory SOPs.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Recent graduates with the right aptitude are encouraged to apply.
