Job Details:
Full-time: 35 hours per week, Fixed term: 6 months
Contract Type: Fixed Term, Grade UE06: £34,610 to £39,906 per annum
The Opportunity:
A Research Assistant position is available in the lab of Dr Kevin Myant to carry out a collaborative project to test a novel therapeutic for the treatment of colorectal cancer. This project, sponsored by industry partner Trogenix, aims to test the applicability of enhancer-driven cell targeting in metastatic disease.
Education and Experience :
- BSc/MSc or equivalent in cancer biology or related biomedical field.
- Proven experience with organoid culture systems.
- Skilled in molecular biology techniques.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in collaborative research settings.
Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to determine how cancer cells respond to therapies using patient-derived human organoid models
- Contribute to bridging academic and translational/industry related projects
- Engage in molecular biology techniques such as flow cytometry, viral transductions, qRT-PCR, etc.
- Communicate complex information clearly
