About the Job

The University of Sheffield seeks a Research Associate with expertise in evolutionary biology and population genetics to join the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Research Cluster, School of Biosciences.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Undertake research in evolutionary biology and population genetics
  • Manage research and administrative activities
  • Read and review relevant literature
  • Independently learn and develop research methodologies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in partner institutions
  • Lead the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles
  • Contribute new ideas for research projects and grant proposals
  • Teach or undertake ad-hoc teaching
  • Embed principles of equality, diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability
  • Carry out other duties as required

Person Specification

The ideal candidate should hold a PhD/DPhil in Evolutionary Biology or Population Genetics, have experience in quantitative genetics analyses, data analysis using R, and a proven track record of publishing scientific papers.
