The University of Sheffield seeks a Research Associate with expertise in evolutionary biology and population genetics to join the Ecology & Evolutionary Biology Research Cluster, School of Biosciences.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Undertake research in evolutionary biology and population genetics
- Manage research and administrative activities
- Read and review relevant literature
- Independently learn and develop research methodologies
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in partner institutions
- Lead the preparation of scientific reports and journal articles
- Contribute new ideas for research projects and grant proposals
- Teach or undertake ad-hoc teaching
- Embed principles of equality, diversity, inclusivity, and sustainability
- Carry out other duties as required
Person Specification
The ideal candidate should hold a PhD/DPhil in Evolutionary Biology or Population Genetics, have experience in quantitative genetics analyses, data analysis using R, and a proven track record of publishing scientific papers.
