Research Associate Jobs in California- Role
As a Research Associate I in the Guerin Children’s – Traver Lab, you’ll perform a variety of laboratory experiments and protocols under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, Dr. David Traver. Your work will involve hands-on cellular, micro-, and molecular biology techniques such as PCR, DNA/RNA extraction, protein assays, Western/Northern blotting, cell culture, and immunohistochemistry.
The position focuses on supporting laboratory research projects, maintaining accurate records, assisting with general lab maintenance, and contributing to ongoing studies involving zebrafish animal research. This is a per diem, on-site role — ideal for candidates passionate about biomedical science and eager to gain experience in a leading academic research environment.
Research Jobs- Key Responsibilities:
- Perform standard lab procedures and assist with experiment execution.
- Maintain detailed experiment documentation and data records.
- Handle lab upkeep, equipment, and reagent management.
- Support sample processing, logging, and analysis.
- Assist new students and fellows with lab orientation.
- Ensure compliance with lab safety and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences (required).
- Previous experience with zebrafish animal research is a strong advantage.
