Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Science with 1–2 years of relevant laboratory experience

Key Responsibilities of the Research Associate Role:

  • Assist senior staff with planning, performing, and documenting experiments
  • Conduct general laboratory duties and buffer preparation
  • Perform animal tissue processing
  • Execute analytical pathology techniques including Tissue sectioning (microtomy, cryotomy), Histologic staining (H&E, Masson’s trichrome), Immunohistochemistry, In Situ Hybridization
  • Perform brightfield and epifluorescence microscopy
  • Conduct qualitative and basic quantitative image analysis (Visiopharm)
  • Prepare image data for reports and presentations
  • Support development and optimization of experimental systems
  • Perform experiments based on SOPs, literature protocols, or innovative approaches
  • Maintain accurate documentation and handle raw data appropriately
  • Support general laboratory maintenance activities

Skills Required for the Research Associate Role:

  • Strong foundational wet lab skills
  • Experience with tissue processing and microscopy techniques
  • Understanding of histology and immunohistochemistry
  • Ability to follow SOPs and scientific protocols
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and work in a wet lab environment
  • Ability to handle occasional exposure to toxic chemicals, odors, and wet lab conditions
  • No known chemical allergies
