Job Description:
The Lander Lab is looking for a motivated Research Scientist II to play a crucial role in mapping the transcriptional and epigenetic landscape in various cell types and tissues. The ideal candidate will work on understanding cellular programs and developing tools to uncover mechanisms of disease by applying cutting-edge technologies in human cells and tissue.
Characteristic Duties:

Lead and collaborate with scientists and research associates

Develop and apply functional genomics techniques, including chromatin profiling, single-cell transcriptomics, and CRISPR-based assays

Design and lead independent projects, developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria

Make significant contributions to scientific papers, data analyses, and presentations

Generate protocols, train personnel, and support other scientists

Work within multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals

Manage administrative and operational activities for the lab

Coordinate Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) protocols, inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance

Maintain laboratory safety standards and serve as emergency preparedness representative
Requirements:

Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or a related life science field

3+ years of relevant laboratory experience in academic or industry settings preferred

Strong hands-on experience in molecular biology and genomics

Experience with single-cell RNA-seq and chromatin profiling highly desirable

Experience with quantitative data analysis; knowledge of computational methods is a plus

Proven critical scientific thinking, multi-tasking, and analytical problem-solving skills

Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills

Ability to manage administrative activities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
