Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
- Utilize Cell Biology techniques to work with mammalian and Drosophila cell cultures for mRNA enrichment studies.
- Perform recombinant DNA work using Molecular Biology methods such as PCR, DNA/RNA purifications, and cloning.
- Maintain lab cleanliness, sterilize equipment, and assist with general laboratory tasks.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and handle deliveries.
- Contribute to fly husbandry activities for genetic crosses and stock maintenance.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong professional judgment and communication skills.
- Effective organizational and interpersonal abilities.
- Capable of working in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biology or related field.
- Some post-undergraduate work experience in a relevant field.
- Equivalent education/experience as per JHU guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional post-undergraduate work experience.
- Relevant undergraduate lab experience.
