Job Introduction We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Scientist to join our QC Microbiology team at Pharmaron, a premier R&D service company. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting internal and client-facing biologics projects by ensuring high laboratory standards while delivering timely, high-quality microbiological testing and documentation. This position is ideal for someone passionate about scientific rigor, collaboration, and advancing QC capabilities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Roles and Responsibilities of a Scientist Analytical Sciences
- Set exemplary standards within the laboratory and facility in compliance with Development, Quality, and EHS Policies and Procedures.
- Support Project leads on delivery of internal and Client-based work packages through planning, design, delivery, and reporting of activities within the QC Microbiology laboratories.
- Drive 5S and operational excellence initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Lead on the delivery and validation of new capital equipment items and train others in procedures, techniques, equipment, and technologies.
- Analyze data to a high standard and ensure protocols and procedures are delivered with attention to detail.
- Complete all laboratory or batch related documentation in a timely and compliant manner.
- Act as a subject matter expert in areas relating to Microbiology, including facility contamination control and GMP analysis.
Requirements for Scientist, Analytical Sciences
- BS/MS (or equivalent) in a relevant life sciences field with biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical experience.
- Proven industrial experience within the biopharmaceutical or pharmaceutical industry, with a preference for gene therapy experience.
- Knowledge and experience in microbiology techniques such as Environmental Monitoring, LAL testing, Gram Staining, Water testing, and Bioburden testing.
- Experience in the use of statistical techniques for the planning/analysis of experiments and handling large amounts of data.
