Scientist Jobs in Rhyl- An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Biomedical Scientist (Biomedical Science Jobs) to join the Cellular Pathology team at our modern laboratory facility in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan. We welcome applications from both HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientists (Research Jobs) and those working towards registration who are expected to complete their IBMS portfolio within the next 12 months. Candidates not yet registered will be appointed as Trainee Biomedical Scientists under Annex 21 of Band 5.

Scientist Jobs in Rhyl- Role:

As a Biomedical Scientist in Cellular Pathology, you will play a central role in delivering and shaping the future of pathology services across North Wales. Our laboratory is undergoing an exciting phase of technological advancement, including the implementation of mechanised slide scanning and computational pathology systems.

Biomedical Science Jobs- Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual and automated techniques for diagnostic testing.
  • Ensure high-quality specimen analysis aligned with departmental standards.
  • Support and develop innovations that enhance laboratory efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.
  • Contribute to maintaining service quality, safety, and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of clinical service users.

This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified or soon-to-be-registered Biomedical Scientists eager to grow in a forward-thinking, dynamic lab environment.

Essential Requirements

  • BSc in Biomedical Science (IBMS-accredited) or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration (or expected within 12 months).
  • Experience using both manual and automated laboratory techniques.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance, Health & Safety, and laboratory best practices.

Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems).
  • Understanding of Clinical Laboratory Accreditation standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Welsh-speaking ability (desirable but not essential).
