Job Title: Research Scientist IV
Requirements
Required Education/Experience:
– PhD or M.D. in Molecular or Cellular Biology, Biochemistry, or other closely related fields
– Minimum of four (4) years experience in the required field of specialization
– Prior experience with laboratory management or other relevant research fields.
Preferred qualification for Seattle Children’s Biotech Job:
– Prior teaching experience
– Experience with all routine cellular and molecular experimental procedures
– Experience with molecular biology techniques (Northern, Western, Southern, PCR and InSitu Hybridization techniques)
– Experience with statistics and relevant computer programs
– Experience writing and editing manuscripts.
General Duties
Seattle Children’s Biotech Job
• Responsible to plan, design and execute research development activities in support of funded research projects.
• Perform experimental procedures and make detailed observations; analyze and interpret data.
• Works closely with principal investigator on the development of technical proposals, presentations manuscripts and grants.
• Plans and conducts work requiring independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Uses a wide application of complex principles, theories and concepts in a specific scientific discipline.
Skills Needed:
• Familiarity with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
