Position Summary

At Pfizer’s La Jolla site, we are looking for a Senior Associate Scientist specializing in Systems Biology to join our team. The role involves uncovering Pfizer’s next biologic oncology therapeutics by designing and developing cell-based assays, handling liquid samples, and conducting high throughput screenings of biologic drug candidates, with a focus on immune cell engagement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and manage mammalian cell cultures.
  • Develop cell assays through cell line engineering.
  • Enable therapeutic antibody discovery through in vitro cell-based assays and high throughput screen.
  • Operate liquid handling and automation.
  • Analyze, organize, and present data in small and large group meetings.
  • Conduct relevant scientific literature search to aid in experimental design.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS for Senior Associate Scientist Role

  • B.S. degree and 3+ years’ experience in general cell biology and cell-based assays OR
  • MS degree and 1+ years’ experience in general cell biology and cell-based assays
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture.
  • Experience with lentiviral protein expression system.
  • Experience with cell-based assays including but not limited to luciferase reporters, ELISA, MSD, NanoBRET, cell viability.
  • Experience independently designing, planning, executing, and interpreting experiments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with plasmid design, cloning, lentivirus, and generation of stable cell lines
  • Experience with flow cytometry
  • Experience with live cell imaging with Incucytes
  • Experience with SnapGene or similar molecular biology design software
  • Familiarity with drug discovery, automation, and HTS.

Work Location: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $66,500.00 to $110,900.00, with additional benefits and programs offered by Pfizer. The compensation structure and benefits may vary based on the location of hire.
