Job Title: Scientist, Molecular Event Analysis – (18025896)
Accountabilities
- Function as a key member of molecular event characterization team to ensure high throughput operation and timely delivery of high-quality analysis data to support event generation efforts required to deliver business objectives defined by a project or supervisor
- Bring in new ideas and innovative solutions to improve function capability and efficiency, and effectively evaluate, implement, and drive results
Provide scientific expertise required to design and deliver studies defined by project or supervisor - Actively contribute to the development, improvement and implementation of methodologies, protocols, and process to expand molecular analysis and characterization capability and increase molecular analysis and characterization throughput
- Actively contribute to development, improvement and implementation of tools and lab information management systems for processing and management of event molecular analysis data
- Responsible for evaluating and implementing changes to established protocols or systems
- Follow existing processes, procedures and systems to independently design and execute experiments
- Deliver results in fast-changing business environments
- Communicate progress and results with team members and projects in a timely fashion
Perform all activities in accordance with the Syngenta Health, Safety, and Environmental Policy - Follow quality management system instructions and maintain accurate experimental records according to company policy with outstanding attention to detail
Qualifications
- BS degree with minimum 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, or MS degree in molecular biology, genetics, plant biology, biotechnology
- Knowledge of high throughput molecular analysis platforms, molecular techniques, lab information management, plant development, physiology, genetics, breeding and biotechnology.
- Demonstrated experience in molecular biology, genetics, plant biology, or related biotechnology field
- Experience in high throughput laboratory environment
- Experience in analysis data handling, troubleshooting, and lab information with demonstrated attention to details
- Excellent analytical and communication skills in interpreting and presenting study results and analysis data
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability in applying molecular analysis
- Demonstrated experience in working effectively as a member of a dynamic technical team.
- Flexibility in handling new job assignments and achieving results in a rapidly changing work environment.
- Proficiency in use of standard Microsoft Office software (e.g., Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability and motivation to learn new technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to daily work
- Must be authorized to work for Syngenta in the United States without work authorization sponsorship
